With 20 years of experience in private equity and a lifelong interest in what drives the flow of markets, Peter Lombardi brings an entrepreneurial spirit to RxBenefits as our Private Equity Executive Advisor.
Peter grew up in Burlington, North Carolina, where he mowed lawns and washed cars in his first money-making ventures. While attending UNC Chapel Hill, he majored in economics and learned about what drives the flow of money.
During his career, his passion for learning about finance and industry drew him to the private equity space. He helped launch PitchBook, an industry-leading private equity research platform, and recently served as Chief Revenue Officer for Cyndx, a leading private equity research and data provider. Over the past 15 years, Peter has helped numerous companies launch service offerings into the Private Equity space and has been actively involved in helping firms identify deal opportunities as well.
At RxBenefits, Peter combines his knowledge of healthcare and private equity and, in doing so, helps educate PE firms about the impact of healthcare costs on the financial health of their companies.
Since joining RxBenefits, Peter said he’s been impressed with the intelligent, dedicated, creative, and hard-working people at the company. “Jeff Lyons (Business Development Executive) and Neal Hooper (Director, Go-to-Mark Strategy, Analytics and Reporting) have gone over and above the call of duty, helping me at every level in my time here, and I can’t imagine how I would’ve accomplished so much without them,” Peter said. “I have a lot of gratitude towards the people of RxBenefits, especially Neal and Jeff.
For Peter, the essential elements of business and life come together in listening. Hearing people share their needs and challenges helps him make the best recommendations, and he aims to treat all people he interacts with respectfully and politely.
“It feels good, particularly in today’s world, to be mindful of others and treat people with respect,” Peter said. “I grew up with Southern tradition and British formality, and I was raised to be genuinely interested and engaged when talking with people.”
Living in Florida with his wife and teenage son, Peter enjoys many outdoor activities, from salt-water fly fishing to snow skiing to making his own wine.
